Neymar will travel with Barcelona to Japan for the Club World Cup even though the forward’s participation is in doubt due to a groin injury.
The Brazil captain suffered the injury in training on Tuesday, with Sport reporting it came about when Neymar attempted his ‘sombrero’ trick on Luis Suarez, flicking the ball over his teammate’s head, and over-stretched.
Neymar missed the Champions League draw with Bayer Leverkusen and will sit out Barca’s League game with Deportivo La Coruna, but could be involved in the Club World Cup semi-final, on December 17.
His father has suggested he will definitely be fit for the final three days later and Sport reveals Neymar will undergo physiotherapy during the 12-hour flight to Japan from Rafael Martini.
Neymar missed Barca’s Thursday training session due to the injury while Lionel Messi was also absent for personal reasons, Barca having denied he picked up a hamstring injury against Leverkusen.
