Atleti went to Lisbon level on points with the Eagles but came away with a 2-1 victory that, in theory, offers a better draw in the next round.
“We came to win, we scored goals in a very good game, but the goal they scored made us suffer,” the captain said after the match, AS reports.
“We have players with a lot of quality, able to unbalance the opposition.
“Being first was the target, so we [look to the draw] with humility and respect.
“Cholo’s extension? We have a similar way of understanding football.”
