Unai Emery wants Sevilla to focus on their Champions League game against Juventus, not Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Los Rojiblancos have to beat Juve and hope Gladbach lose to City in order to finish third in Group D and return to the Europa League, the competition they have won the past two years.
“It’s not in our hands, all we can do is play a great game, prepare very well to face a strong opponent but have faith in ourselves,” Emery told a Press conference.
“If we win then we’ll look at the match in Manchester. City have to win to reach important goals [topping the group], and Borussia are in great form.
“All these ingredients insure it’ll be a great game, but for us the only goal is to win.”
Emery added that Sevilla will prepare for the game against the Serie A champions in much the same way they do for a domestic heavyweight.
“The team we’re facing is of the same calibre as Barcelona and Real Madrid. We’ll work in the same way we’ve done against those teams,” he explained.
