Barcelona defender Dani Alves claims Real Madrid must be expelled from the Copa del Rey as “these things should not happen at a club like them”.
Los Blancos are set to discover whether they will be kicked out of the competition for fielding an apparently-ineligible player in Denis Cheryshev against Cadiz on Wednesday, and the Brazilian is of the opinion that his arch-rivals must do the time if they have done the crime.
“These things should not happen at a club like Real Madrid,” he told Cadena COPE.
“They should be expelled on the basis of their match [against Cadiz] parties and the rulebook. There’s no defence which stands up.
“I wouldn’t like to see Madrid in La Segunda. I don’t hate them that much!
“La Liga without them would lack spice. Madrid make Barca better.”
