‘Sandro, Munir a lot to improve’

Luis Enrique praised Sandro Ramirez and Munir El Haddadi for claiming the lion’s share of Barcelona’s goals against Villanovense but ‘they have a lot to improve.’

Barca beat the Segunda B side 6-1 on aggregate, routing the visitors at Camp Nou following a goalless draw in the first leg, with Sandro getting three and Munir two.

“Sandro and Munir scored again but have a lot to improve. They’re good friends with a close relationship,” AS quotes Enrique as saying of the forward pair.

“They were always players who had goals in them and had confidence. They’re young and they have attitude.”

Enrique also explained the thinking behind not replacing Jeremy Mathieu for the game’s last 10 minutes, with Villanovense counterpart Julio Cobos suggesting the decision ‘lacked respect.’

“I decided not to risk Mathieu and those who were on the bench were cold and not ready to go on,” Enrique said.

“I apologise if anyone felt offended, but I would make the same decision again.”
