Juanmi, Samu back to Malaga?

Juanmi and Samu Garcia have been linked with January returns to Malaga after leaving for Southampton and Villarreal respectively.

AS reports the Saints wouldn’t stand in Juanmi’s way if a loan deal could be arranged for the winter transfer window as he is currently not in the plans of Ronald Koeman.

The only obstacle is Juanmi’s wages, which Malaga may have to cover, and the beleaguered south coast club may struggle to do so.

Samu’s mooted return isn’t as far down the road as that of Juanmi as there hasn’t been initial contact yet between the clubs, but Javi Gracia has confirmed he would like to have the cantera product back in his squad.

It would also be a loan deal if it was to happen and Marcelino’s hasn’t used Samu regularly at El Madrigal, so he could be allowed to leave until the summer.

Malaga do though have to operate under the LFP-imposed salary cap and to return one or both of Juanmi and Samu would mean trimming Gracia’s squad accordingly.

But with the first half of the season having been a struggle, the club are reportedly willing to work to improve the team’s prospects for the rest of the campaign.
