‘Messi tomorrow? We’ll see…’

Luis Enrique declined to confirm if Lionel Messi will play for Barcelona against Villanovense in the Copa del Rey second leg.

Barca host the minnows after drawing 0-0 in the first leg, the tie having been scheduled earlier than other Cup fixtures due to La Blaugrana’s Club World Cup involvement.

“We’ll see tomorrow if Messi plays. There’ll be 11 starters, an XI of guarantees,” Enrique told a pre-match Press conference, AS reports.

“To win the Cup we have to get through this round and we’re tied 0-0. I’ll tell my players first what the team is. It makes no sense to change how we do things.

“Considering what happened in the first leg [0-0 is] a dangerous score because any draw other than 0-0 knocks us out, so I face the game with the same seriousness of any tie.”
