Ronaldo: Madrid have confidence

Cristiano Ronaldo insists there’s a good feeling in the Real Madrid squad despite losing the Clasico and nearly blowing it against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Madrid were soundly beaten by Barcelona last weekend and looked to be romping to a 4-0 win in Ukraine, only to be pegged back to 4-3 by full time.

“We wanted to be top of the group and we succeeded,” Ronaldo said, AS reports, stressing that qualifying in first place from Champions League Group A mattered more than the result.

“We’re good, happy, it’s what we planned before the game. The team is good, with confidence, more than before.

“We had to recover after what happened against Barcelona and we had a good game.

“We played well, with confidence. Regardless of the last 15 minutes I think we did well.”
