Roberto Carlos agrees Lionel Messi is the best player in the world but argues Neymar’s recent form means he’s the world’s ‘most impressive’ player.
Carlos spoke to ESPN Brazil, Sport notes, and commended his compatriot as well as discussing former club Real Madrid in the aftermath of El Clasico.
“Barcelona’s victory doesn’t mean they’re the best in the world,” the left-back insisted.
“At the moment they have fantastic players but Neymar is the most impressive in the world. Messi will always be No 1, with Cristiano Ronaldo, but in the last three or four months Neymar has been absolutely fabulous. You have to applaud him because he’s been spectacular.
“I was in the same situation at Real Madrid once. We lost 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu and we weren’t near to scoring.
“The problem is I made bets with some players and now I have to pay…”
