Navas: Madrid have to run more

Keylor Navas believes the whole Real Madrid team has to ‘run more’ to get back to winning ways after two straight League defeats.

The goalkeeper was speaking in advance of Madrid’s Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, but the shadow of the heavy Clasico defeat was still hanging over.

“The whole team has to run more. We are a team. Needless to say some ran more than others,” Navas replied when asked about Madrid’s defending against Barcelona, AS reports.

“I trust my teammates fully. We have to keep the strength to move forward. When we lose, we all lose. And when we win, we all win.

“We need three points to keep up steadfast in the Champions League. And we’ve come here with that mentality.

“We’re all united and we have known our objectives from the beginning. You can say whatever out there but the important thing is what we think.

“Clearly we had a bad game [against Barca]. You can’t hide from that sort of thing, ever. What’s been said with the Coach stays between us.

“We know what we have to change. We have things very clear. There are good times and bad times. We had a very bad game and it hurts.

“Nobody wants to continue with feelings like that. We have to try and correct the bad things to reach our goal.”
