Unai Emery admits to ‘wanting more’ from the Champions League as Sevilla bowed out at the group stage with defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Los Rojiblancos can’t finish any higher than third and even that is a challenge as the reverse in Germany sent Emery’s team to the bottom of Group D, meaning they need to beat Juventus in the last round of games.
“We felt we wanted more out of this competition. But we have to raise ourselves and with the strength of this team look for our objectives,” Emery said, AS reports.
“We finish in the Champions League despite the hopes we had. The demand was too much. Our second objective is the Europa League and that’s what we compete for in the final round.
“We’ll play in our stadium and have to maintain the hope of that competition. We have to look for solutions. We wanted to win, we created more in attack, and we’re satisfied apart from the result.
“We have to work on the defensive issues. We’ve got to be better and we have to find a way to be better.”
