Andres Iniesta hailed Barcelona for a perfect performance in every sense during Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Real Madrid in the Clasico.
The midfielder scored his first La Liga goal in over a year with the Catalans’ third at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he was quick to shower praise on his teammates for a job well done.
“We played a really complete game in every way with the ball, always looking to be superior,” he said after the game.
“We gave away few chances and counterattacks and had a very good match.
“[On Madrid’s poor display], I said at a Press conference [on Thursday] that we only wanted to be ourselves, and we did that.
“There’s much more [of the season to go]. Nothing has been decided, but we’re very, very pleased with the result.
“We firstly wanted to win then, as always, look to improve our goal difference.
“The greater the distance [between Barca and Madrid], the better for everyone. I thank the fans [for their support].”
