Sergio Gonzalez believes Espanyol have a great opportunity to make up ground in La Liga when they host Granada on Sunday.
The Catalans have lost three of their last four games but can jump to as high as sixth place, other results permitting, with victory over Jose Ramon Sandoval’s strugglers this weekend.
“We have an opportunity to strike a blow on the table,” he said at a Press conference.
“We seem to play better when we’re in tight situations. We step forward when time’s against us and play more relaxed when we’re most at ease.
“The team have had great spells in every game, but also ones of mismatches and misfortunes, so we must find our most positive and strongest version.
“We must look to how we played against Valencia and Betis and be aware that every minute is important.
“Whatever happens, we can’t take anything for granted and I’m convinced that the squad are more than capable of doing just that.”
