Jese Rodriguez will prove to be a better player than Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Real Madrid youngster’s former Coach.
The winger has been ushered into Los Blancos contention this season after spending much of the previous campaign recovering from an ACL tear, but Deogradia Martin believes his protege at AD Huracan has what it takes to topple the three-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“In a few years, [Jese] will prove to be better than Ronaldo. He’s already better [than Ronaldo] at one-on-ones,” he told AS.
“I could see it in his eyes that he was a winner … and quite stubborn!
“When he arrived at Huracan, he told me he signed for us because he felt he was worthy of the move.
“He was [worthy], but he wasn’t so academically. I told him that he had to study or I’d leave him out of the team.”
“I left him out for a match against Las Palmas, until he came on and scored.”
