‘Jackson a good player, better person’

Oliver Torres has commended Jackson Martinez on the work he does for the team after the striker scored his first home goal for Atletico Madrid.

Jackson had only scored once prior to netting against Astana, at Sevilla, and Oliver, also on the score sheet, praised the Colombia international having played with him last year when on loan at Porto.

“He’s a good player and an even better person. I knew him last year and I’m happy for him,” the midfielder said, AS reports.

“Although he was working for the goal, there is work unseen that this team values highly and we were confident the goal would come.

“Obviously I’m happy with my goal, it’s good for my self-confidence. Above all I’m happy for the three points.

“I work every day, looking for an opportunity, to add something to the team. The individual has to work for the group to do something great.”
