‘Ronaldo to PSG? Who knows?’

Thiago Silva was diplomatic when asked if Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi was the better player, and talked Ronaldo’s chances of moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazil centre-back was interviewed ahead of PSG’s game against Real Madrid and, having revealed he came close to joining both Madrid and Barcelona and praised Marcelo, Carlo Ancelotti and Sergio Ramos, he moved on to the age-old Messi or Ronaldo question.

“They are two great players. Maybe Messi is a little better, but that doesn’t detract from Cristiano’s achievements and qualities,” he replied, AS reports.

“Cristiano deserved the Ballon d’Or in 2014. Perhaps now he’s a little better than Messi but as a footballer Messi is a little better.

“It’s normal that Madrid fans are worried PSG might take Ronaldo away. I would be too! I don’t know how long he’s been there.

“Seven years? That’s already a few. It’s a long time for a foreign player. If you want to continue winning and dominating…who knows, Cristiano might help us win the Champions League next year.”
