Di Maria ‘won’t celebrate’ against Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel Di Maria has admitted that he will not celebrate if he scores against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Argentine prepares to face Los Blancos for the first time since his departure in 2014, having spent four successful years at the Santiago Bernabeu, lifting La Decima in his final season.

“I won’t celebrate if I score because I haven’t forgotten what I experienced in Madrid with La Decima. It was unforgettable,” he told Canal+.

“Playing against Madrid is great because in my last match at the Bernabeu, before going to Manchester United, the entire stadium stood up for me.

“Upon my arrival in Paris, I told my wife, ‘you’ll see how we get paired up with Real Madrid’, and I wasn’t wrong.

“[PSG] will fight to win the Champions League. My arrival aside, PSG are a team with extraordinary quality.

“With the players we have, we can do it.”
