Reus back on Barca radar?

Barcelona have reportedly reignited their interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus ahead of a potential summer swoop.

Despite Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan’s eligibility in less than three months, Mundo Deportivo claims La Blaugrana remain intent on signing a direct replacement for Pedro Rodriguez.

Consequently, sporting director Robert Fernandez has created two shortlists – one containing players likely to be available in January and another, which MD claims is for “premium” targets next summer and where Reus appears.

Barca are expected to prioritise Nolito in the winter market, the Celta Vigo star recently confessing his admiration for Coach Luis Enrique, before launching their assault on the Germany international.

Reus was linked with the Catalans last January but appeared to close the door on such a move as he extended his contract with Dortmund until 2019 a month later.

However, it quickly emerged that the forward’s new deal had his previous €25m release clause revoked, although he is still expected to fetch a fee in that region.

The 26-year-old is also known to be close with Barca goalkeeper and countryman Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

In other news, the treble-winners are expected to announce a new sponsorship deal with gambling company Botemania on Friday, worth €80m over four years, thus marking the end of Qatar Airways on the club’s shirts.
