De Gea ‘leaving behind the bad times’

David De Gea is putting the ‘bad things and difficult times’ behind him after his move from Manchester United to Real Madrid collapsed.

De Gea was set for Santiago Bernabeu with Keylor Navas going the other way, only for the transfer to fall apart as the deadline passed.

“I’m a guy that likes to leave behind the bad things and difficult times. I’ve been through hard times and I know what that is,” he said, Marca reports.

“We have to move forward, continuing to work as strong as ever. It’s a learning process that football gives you, hard moments that make you mature and grow.

“These are things you learn from the world of football. You have to keep working in every training session.”

De Gea concluded by revealing his appreciation for the people at United in spite of a summer rife with speculation and rumour.

“Everyone at Manchester United respected me. I tried to help and I am very grateful to them,” he noted.
