Morata: Everyone wants to beat Spain

Alvaro Morata believes being the team to beat has made life difficult for Spain but the Juventus striker is happy to be back with the national team.

Injuries kept Morata out of previous squads but despite his club struggling at the start of the Serie A season, he was named in the squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine.

“I had no rhythm last time. The same thing happened to me last year, I couldn’t get a full pre-season,” he explained, AS reports.

“Now I’m much better and I’m happy to be with Spain.

“Juventus haven’t started in the best way but we’re getting better. I’m happy to have scored again and if we win and I score, I’m happy.

“People expect Spain to win and it’s not easy. Everyone wants to beat Spain and we have to give everything to win.

“I think that in this team there are players that haven’t had much time here. But we have the same enthusiasm to win and we have the same spirit.”
