David Moyes rued Real Sociedad’s defensive mistakes during Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Malaga, admitting they “made it difficult for us to get something more”.
Inigo Martinez was the guilty party as Charles capitalised on two costly errors from the defender en route to his hat-trick, leaving the Coach to wonder what could have been for La Real, given the “good football” they played.
“We were fine after the first 10 minutes and played some good football, creating enough chances to have at least drawn,” he said.
“However, we weren’t strong defensively. Our defensive mistakes made it difficult for us to get something more, but we tried [in terms of commitment].
“[Inigo Martinez] had been good all season until [Sunday], but he knows he was responsible on both occasions.”
