Casemiro paid tribute to Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo after his brace beat Malmo and equalled a club goals record.
Ronaldo’s double sent him level with Raul as Madrid’s all-time scorer, despite some sources crediting Ronaldo with an extra goal that was officially given to Pepe.
“He’s the best in the world,” Casemiro said of Ronaldo, AS reports.
“He always wants to score and keep breaking records. The more he beats, the better for Madrid because we’re all happy.”
Casemiro added that the win over Malmo also left him happy as the defence didn’t concede.
“We know Champions League games are always complicated,” he continued.
“Congratulations to everyone for that match. We were very confident and we again kept a clean sheet.”
