Escriba unfazed by Getafe profligacy

Fran Escriba has insisted that he is not concerned by Getafe’s lack of goalscoring prowess ahead of Sunday’s encounter with Levante.

El Geta are joint-second with Valencia in scoring La Liga’s least number of goals this season, but the Coach has made it clear that his side must tighten up defensively before making any progress at the other end.

“The defeat [against Atletico Madrid] hurt, but if it’s accompanied by good sensations then not so much, more so if it’s at the Vicente Calderon,” he said at a Press conference.

“We have to go from having good sensations and no good results to having it both ways, but I’d take good results and not good sensations right now.

“All our matches have been very close and decided by small details.

“[On Getafe’s scoring the joint-second least number of goals in La Liga], I’m more concerned about how many goals we concede than how many we score.

“Either way, we have attacking midfielders and forwards who can score goals.

“[Levante] are a team who know how to manage games through experience.

“They have potential in attack and get a lot of numbers behind the ball, so we’ll have to be patient and quick when necessary.”
