Villarreal Coach Marcelino declared himself happy as his side made it 13 points from a possible 15 with a win over Malaga.
Fernando Tissone’s own goal decided the tie at La Rosaleda and Marcelino admitted it was a harsh way to take the victory, but believes his team performed well.
“I’m very satisfied. You are with 13 points from 15,” he said, Marca reports.
“We were superior for 70 minutes but suffered for the first 20 and at the end, when some players were tired and Malaga had chances.
“In the first half we had very clear chances and two in the second half as well. The way we scored was the cruellest possible.
“We were very intense and didn’t let them play or get comfortable. We were fluid with good counter-attacks, so overall we had a good game.
“Malaga? Football isn’t being fair to them. They deserve more points than they have.”
