Galatasaray Coach Hamza Hamzaoglu has confirmed Arda Turan passed on information about Atletico Madrid.
Turan left Atletico for Barcelona over the summer and is known to be a Gala supporter, Hamzaoglu telling a Press conference that the midfielder did discuss his former team.
“Thanks to him we have information on how to play Atletico,” the Coach said, AS reports.
“We’re aware that Atletico have developed how they play, but we’ll have more motivation.
“Sometimes we find it hard to get into games, but that won’t be the case here. Against Real Madrid in the Trofeo Santiago Bernabeu we played well, and hopefully we have the same motivation.
“Atletico might be the favourites but favourites don’t always win. Our ground has a great atmosphere in the Champions League. Our fans will push us a lot.
“I have a lot of respect for Diego Simeone. Of course they can create danger for us, but we’ll remain faithful to our philosophy.”
