Alcaraz mixed after Las Palmas draw

Lucas Alcaraz admitted to mixed feelings after Levante's goalless draw at Las Palmas in La Liga on Sunday.

The Valencians held the new boys to a stalemate, picking up their first point of the season for their troubles, and the Coach was pleased with his side's defensive performance, although he would have liked to see more in terms of goalmouth action.

“In the first half, we played with more intent than success,” he said after the game.

“We were comfortable because we didn't suffer too much.

“[Las Palmas were] more intense, competitive and in control after the break.

“It's important that we remain solid defensively and don't concede many chances.

“In that respect I'm happy, but we have to improve in other areas.

“It's psychologically important that we earned a point away from home, especially because we began the season in totally adverse circumstances [at home to Celta Vigo].

“[The pitch in Gran Canaria] was irregular and made the game difficult for both teams.”
