Real Zaragoza have confirmed the appointment of experienced Coach Lucas Alcaraz to replace the outgoing Imanol Idiakez.
Alcaraz has coached across the top two levels of Spanish football across the last two decades and was most recently at the helm of Almeria, whom he left in May.
Zaragoza have picked up just two victories in their 10 league matches this season and sit just three places above the drop zone.
“Today is a hard day on a professional and personal level,” sporting director Lalo Arantegui told reporters, as cited by club media.
“We continue with the same desire to take this club forward. Lucas Alcaraz will be the new Coach and Jesus Cañadas will be his assistant.”
