Marseille loan Lucas Silva

Lucas Silva has completed a loan exit from Real Madrid, joining Ligue 1 outfit Marseille for the season.

The midfielder is the second Madrid player to go to France in the last 24 hours after it was confirmed Fabio Coentrao would play for Monaco for the current campaign.

Silva signed for Madrid from Cruzeiro in the January transfer window at a cost put by AS to be €14m.

But he struggled to get regular game time ahead of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, and Madrid have also this summer added Casemiro, brought back from Porto, and Mateo Kovacic.

Silva was left without a squad number at Santiago Bernabeu and follows Asier Illarramendi out the door, Illarra returning to Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian will be under the guidance of Michel, the Madrid legend who was recently appointed to the Marseille bench after Marcelo Bielsa quit.
