Dani Parejo has welcomed Valencia’s return to the Champions League after the 4-3 aggregate win over Monaco.
Los Che were on Tuesday night beaten in the second leg but qualified after a commanding first leg victory, ensuring Spain have an historic fifth team in the competition’s group stages.
“This is the Champions League and we played against a team that isn’t easy,” the captain said after the match, AS reports.
“Last year they got to the quarter-finals and eliminated a finalist. The important thing is we have come through the tie and we are in the Champions League.
“It was an important game for Alvaro Negredo and everyone was training very well. I told him, if he wants it, we’re in the Champions League.
“He scored and contributed a lot to the team. Valencia are where they deserve to be.
“The fans are amazing. We’re playing away from home and we brought so many supporters. We dedicate this victory to them.
“In this competition every game is pretty amazing. All the games are ones players like to play.”
