Gameiro welcomes Llorente to Sevilla

Kevin Gameiro believes Fernando Llorente will give Sevilla something different once he completes his move from Juventus.

Llorente has been widely reported as accepting Sevilla’s offer and is said to be the club’s first choice for a new striker.

“If he comes then it’s good for the team because there are a lot of matches in various competitions and we need a good group,” Gameiro said, AS reports.

“I work to be in the Coach’s XI, and then we’ll see who plays. I just want to play and score goals. I have no injuries and want that to continue.

“It’s a challenge this season and hopefully my performances will be good. I don’t know if I can live up to expectations but I want to help the team and we have a good group.”

Sevilla, having sold Carlos Bacca to Milan, have added Ciro Immobile from Borussia Dortmund to the group and Gameiro also commented on the Italian.

“There’s a good relationship with Immobile. He’s a good player and the Coach has to pick the team,” he continued.

“We work well and there’s a good relationship. It’s not easy for him. I was in the same situation last year. He’ll get more confident when he plays and he did well against Barcelona.”

Gameiro concluded by looking ahead to the weekend’s game against Atletico Madrid, one of Sevilla’s rivals for fourth place.

“We work to win on Sunday because it’s our first home game and we have to start well here,” he considered.

“I know it will be a very difficult game, but we want to win this type of game to make it a great season.”
