Real Madrid have confirmed Fabio Coentrao has joined Monaco on a season-long loan deal.
The left-back leaves after three years at Santiago Bernabeu, the move coming the day after Monaco were knocked out of the Champions League by Valencia.
Monaco are believed to have chosen Coentrao to replace Layvin Kurzawa, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG have today sold Lucas Digne to Roma, potentially freeing a place in their squad for Kurzawa, who in turn will create room for Coentrao’s move to Ligue 1.
Coentrao has 100 appearances for Madrid to his name but was restricted to only nine in the League last year, and previously played for Benfica.
