Jonathan Rodriguez has signed for Deportivo La Coruna on loan from Benfica, who share his registration with Uruguay’s Penarol.
Rodriguez completed a medical on Monday evening after an inconsistency in the contract was worked out and becomes Deportivo’s 14th signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old moved to Benfica in January but struggled to make an impression, turning out only once for the first team.
Rodriguez did however score six goals in seven games for the Benfica second string after netting 20 goals in 49 games for Penarol.
He also has four caps and one goal to his name for Uruguay.
