Valencia are reportedly on the verge of selling Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester City for €40m plus Eliaquim Mangala for a season.
According to Marca, the Premier League giants have suddenly emerged as favourites for the defender’s signature and could even formalise his arrival on Monday.
A fee of €40m has reportedly been agreed between both clubs, while Mangala, who did not enjoy the best of debut campaigns at the Etihad Stadium in 2014-15, is expected to head in the opposite direction.
However, Los Che are not understood to have secured the option of a permanent transfer next summer for the France international.
Otamendi has long been linked with an exit from Valencia, a situation which has escalated in the last few days following his refusal to train.
