Rodrigo Moreno has claimed that Valencia “should be among the best teams in Europe” ahead of next week’s Champions League playoff against Monaco.
Los Che must negotiate a tricky tie with the Principality outfit in order to reach the group stage of Europe’s elite club competition, starting with the first leg at Mestalla on Wednesday.
“It’ll be a very important game to kick off the season, our first final, albeit over two legs,” the forward told AS.
“We should be among the best teams in Europe, winning trophies and hearing the Champions League anthem again.
“[Monaco] have a good team, made some great signings and did well in the Champions League last season, demonstrating their quality.
“Hopefully there will be a great atmosphere [at Mestalla], which will help us overcome the tie, because it would be the culmination of our hard work from last season.
“This season, I hope to enjoy more continuity, score more goals and helping the team.”
