Erik Lamela has appeared to suggest that Roberto Soldado will imminently leave Tottenham Hotspur following an accidental Twitter post.
The striker, who has been capped 12 times for Spain, has been heavily linked with Villarreal over the past week as a direct replacement for Luciano Vietto, who recently left El Madrigal for Atletico Madrid.
Although he soon deleted the post, Lamela wrote on his official Twitter account: “I enjoyed these two years that we share, I wish you well in your new club! Good luck my friend!”
Soldado joined Tottenham in the summer of 2013 from Valencia as one of their seven post-Gareth Bale signings but scored just seven Premier League goals in two seasons at White Hart Lane.
