PSG intent on keeping Motta

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly informed Thiago Motta they have no intention of letting him leave despite Atletico Madrid’s interest.

AS claim PSG Coach Laurent Blanc has declared Motta to be too important to let walk away although his insistence has had little impact on Motta’s intentions.

The former Barcelona midfielder still wants to go and is willing to be patient, it’s said, and Atletico haven’t been put off either.

But Atletico are reluctant to pay too high a price for the 32-year-old, because of his age and significant pay packet of €4m-a-year. Atleti hope to sign Motta on a free transfer.

Motta was however not involved in PSG’s first competitive game of the season, a 2-0 French Super Cup win over Lyon, and will soon be fighting Angel Di Maria for a place in the team.
