Valencia have reportedly offered Alvaro Negredo to Premier League pair Arsenal and Liverpool as Nuno Santo doesn’t count on the striker.
Negredo spent last season on loan at Mestalla from Manchester City and Valencia had an obligation to sign the Spain international on a permanent basis.
They duly did and despite Negredo returning for pre-season training in much better physical condition, Nuno prefers other players in his position.
Reports from England say both the Reds and the Gunners were offered Negredo, who holds a good reputation in the country after a short but prolific spell with City.
But Liverpool have already signed two strikers this summer – Danny Ings and Christian Benteke – and Arsenal would prefer Karim Benzema.
Negredo could be Arsene Wenger’s plan B, Super Deporte suggest, as prying Benzema away from Santiago Bernabeu would be a complicated operation.
