Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has confirmed Filipe Luis is close to returning and suggested Guilherme Siqueira could stay at the club.
It had been believed Siqueira would be moved on should Filipe be re-signed from Chelsea, 12 months after leaving, but Cerezo has indicated that’s not necessarily the case.
“I don’t think it’ll be long before Filipe comes,” Cerezo said, Marca reports.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has for his part confirmed Filipe is close to the exit, when he acknowledged the Premier League champions were looking for a left-back.
“Siqueira is a great player and he could stay,” Cerezo added.
“I’m delighted with the squad. The additions are fantastic and should make for a great season.
“Jackson Martinez has arrived and we have little left to do, just to start playing. I think we’ve got a great team and those who have come greatly outweigh those who have left.”
