Iker Casillas is delighted with the warm welcome he has received from Porto fans and promises that no one will be able to doubt his commitment to the club.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper left boyhood club Real Madrid earlier this week and is now with his new teammates on their pre-season tour of Holland.
“No one will be able to doubt my effort and commitment to my new badge,” Casillas told Spanish news agency EFE.
“I will play with the same excitement and the same desire as at the beginning of my career.
“In just a few days I’ve felt the fans’ support and affection on social media, at the airport, at the stadium and on the streets of Porto.”
The former Los Blancos captain added that his first impressions of his new club could not be any better.
“My first impressions couldn’t be better. I’m happy, excited and ready to start this new project.”
