Ramos ‘not for sale’

Marca claim that Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos will not be for sale at any price following Iker Casillas’ departure.

With the former Blancos goalkeeper and captain having now left Santiago Bernabeu for Porto, Ramos is the next in line to inherit the armband and is viewed, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, as the leader of the dressing room.

However, the central defender has yet to sign a contract extension and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over the course of the summer.

The Red Devils are reported to be willing to offer the 29-year-old net wages of €11m a season, a figure that it is said Madrid will not be able to match.

The 10-time European champions are currently in Melbourne as part of the pre-season tour and, according to the report, it will be the job of Coach Rafa Benitez to act as mediator in a bid to resolve the differences between Ramos and club President Florentino Perez.
