Laurent Blanc has expressed his desire to keep Thiago Motta at Paris Saint-Germain but admits the Atletico Madrid target has the final say on his future.
The Italy midfielder, 32, has been linked with a return to Los Colchoneros all summer, and the Coach made it clear that he would respect the player’s wishes if he was intent on leaving the club.
“[On Motta staying at PSG], it all depends on the players,” he told L’Equipe.
“There are players who have expressed their desire to leave the club, and we will listen to them, but the wishes of both the player and team must be met.
Nonetheless, Blanc added Motta – whose contract expires next summer – was a “key player” and “very important” in PSG’s functionality.
