Official: Sevilla sign Immobile

Sevilla have announced the signing of striker Ciro Immobile from Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan, subject to a medical.

According to the Europa League winners’ official website, the 25-year-old will land in Andalucia on Sunday night, before undergoing physical examinations a day later.

Immobile will then join up with his new teammates for the first time at Sevilla’s pre-season training camp in La Manga.

AS also claims the loan deal includes a purchase option for €10m, which can be activated next summer.

Despite being a Naples native, Immobile began his career at Juventus and cultivated his trade at Siena, Grosseto, Pescara and Genoa.

However, he did not shoot to prominence until last year, when he was crowned Serie A’s top goalscorer for 2013-14 with 22 strikes for Torino.

After his participation at the 2014 World Cup, he moved to Dortmund as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, while his strike partner Alessio Cerci left for Atletico Madrid.

He netted just three times in the Bundesliga last season and is now tasked with succeeding Carlos Bacca at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
