Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez, who is again believed to be considering his future.
Despite having recently extended his contract until 2019, the Spain international remains aware that he will not receive any minutes while the attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar are available for selection.
Mundo Deportivo claims the new agreement has cut Pedro’s release clause from €150m to €30m as a result of playing too little last season, and such a figure may reignite interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool understood to been interested in the past.
However, the British Press now claim Chelsea are keen to weaken their Champions League rivals by signing Pedro, with the Blues known for their opportunism in the transfer market.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old is not expected to make a decision on his future until the new board are elected on July 18.
