Atletico Madrid new boy Luciano Vietto has revealed his excitement at the prospect of playing for a “winner” in Coach Diego Simeone.
The Argentine forward has reacquainted himself with Cholo, the pair having worked together at Racing Club, after finally completing his €20m transfer to the Vicente Calderon from Villarreal on Wednesday.
“I hope we’ll be in contention for a trophy, whether it be the Copa [del Rey], Champions League or La Liga, while ensuring we continue competing in the Champions League every year,” he told Atleti’s official website.
“[Simeone’s] a winning Coach and knows how to get the best out of his players.
“I really wanted to join the club, and I’ll train [hard] and do all I can to give everything that I’ve got to this team so we can fight for more trophies next season.”
