Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Yannick Ferreira Carrasco from Monaco on a five-year contract for a reported €15m.
Los Colchoneros are understood to have purchased 75 percent of the 21-year-old’s economic rights, with the Principality side retaining 25%.
“We’re very pleased with the agreement with Monaco as Yannick is a player with huge potential and has an incredible future,” Atleti sporting director Caminero told the club’s official website.
“He’s a player with great speed, excellent at driving the ball forward and has a great shot.
“He’ll contribute to our objective of increasing the level of our squad and its competitiveness perfectly. I’m convinced that he’ll bring us a lot.”
Ferreira Carrasco, a Belgium international of Spanish descent, scored six goals in 36 appearances for Monaco last season, helping the team reach the Champions League quarter-finals and subsequently the 2015-16 playoffs.
