Real Sociedad have announced that Geronimo Rulli’s loan has been extended for another season.
La Real appeared to have lost the goalkeeper as reports claimed his parent club Deportivo Maldonado were ready to force through negotiations with Valencia, who hoped to replace the injured Diego Alves with the Argentine.
However, they have now confirmed that the 23-year-old will spend another year at Anoeta after reaching an agreement with the Uruguayan minnows.
“Real Sociedad have reached a new agreement with the public limited company Deportivo Maldonado (owner of the player’s rights) for the loan of Geronimo Rulli until June 30, 2016,” read a statement on the Basques official website.
“Real Sociedad would like to publicly acknowledge the involvement and commitment of Deportivo Maldonado SAD in achieving this mutual agreement.
“Geronimo Rulli will travel with the rest of the squad to Austria tomorrow [Sunday].”
