Montoya wants regular football

Martin Montoya has cited regular football as his main reason for leaving Barcelona for Inter.

The full back arrived in Italy this morning to undergo a medical ahead of completing his switch to San Siro on a two-year loan deal.

“Inter is a great club and I really want to play regularly,” he told Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Yesterday, the 24-year-old told Mundo Deportivo that he hopes to one day return to Camp Nou.

“I’m sad to be leaving, but Luis Enrique told me he wouldn’t be relying on me.

“I wanted to leave in January, but I didn’t have permission because of the transfer ban. I’m on loan for two years, I hope I can go back.

“I realised I’d have to leave when I saw the club had renewed Dani Alves’ contract and signed Aleix Vidal.”
