Barcelona could let Douglas go to Sevilla in exchange for Denis Suarez’s early return from his two-year loan spell.
Marca report the right-back is liked by Sevilla sporting director Monchi and as Sevilla have lost Aleix Vidal – to Barca – and could lose Diogo, reinforcements in the position are being sought.
Barca and Sevilla are still negotiating over Denis, who signed a two-year loan agreement only 12 months ago.
Douglas signed for Barca in 2014 but barely featured last season as Barca won the treble, and the Catalans aren’t opposed to letting the defender go to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
There are however reports from Spain that suggest the RFEF would stand in the way of Denis’ return to Barca, as they feel it breaches the letter of the FIFA-imposed transfer embargo.
Barca disagree and claim they have a letter from FIFA that confirms loan returns aren’t considered transfers but the issue needs clarification before the player can go back to Camp Nou.
