Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta claims he has “telepathy” with Lionel Messi and support of the dressing room.
The 52-year-old, who previously served the Catalans between 2003 and 2010, also announced at his campaign presentation that he wanted to restore prominence to four “pillars” and would appoint Eric Abidal as his sporting director if he won the elections.
“With Messi, I have telepathy,” he said at his campaign presentation on Monday.
“He always knows what I think. Leo [Messi] knew I’d put my name forward, just before I did, because he’s a genius. The truth is that I feel supported by the dressing room.
“[On Sandro Rosell’s decision to withdraw Johan Cruyff’s title as honorary President], it was a great mistake. It’s an issue that I’ve spoken calmly to Johan about.”
