It’s been confirmed Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas will miss the Gold Cup and the Real Madrid man may even need surgery.
Paulo Wanchope, Coach of Los Ticos, revealed Navas wouldn’t recover from an Achilles tendon injury in time for the summer tournament, contested by countries from North and Central America and the Caribbean.
Wanchope was unable to say if Navas will require an operation on the injury and the player will return to Madrid so his club can assess the situation.
AS note that Navas’ injury also complicates matters for Los Blancos amid speculation Iker Casillas is to leave Santiago Bernabeu.
If Navas is unavailable to deputise for David De Gea, Madrid’s expected summer signing, then Casillas could be retained.
